Hey, I'm Jonny - Bristol-Based Filmmaker

A Bit About Me

I'm a videographer with a 14-year camera obsession, properly based in Bristol. When I'm not filming around the Harbourside or Clifton, I'm walking Jess, my golden retriever who's basically become my unofficial assistant.

I've somehow ended up filming at places like Old Trafford and working with people I used to only see on TV. Still not sure how that happened, but I'll take it!

What I've Been Up To

Over the years, I've shot pretty much everything:

Filmed Rio Ferdinand at Old Trafford (dropped a lens cap, wanted to disappear)

Did behind-the-scenes for "Salvable" and worked with talents like Maimuna Enya Memon and Nina Wadia

Created those Christmas ads interrupting your Sky TV viewing (sorry!)

Made countless burgers look unrealistically delicious for restaurant promos

Survived chaotic music events where keeping the camera steady was half the battle

I've built relationships with sound engineers who actually monitor audio levels, editors who forgive my terrible file naming, and camera ops who show up when they say they will.

Bristol Filming Favorites

After countless Bristol shoots, I've got opinions:

Clifton Suspension Bridge - stunning at sunset, terrifying on windy days, and always crowded with tourists taking selfies.

SS Great Britain - perfect for historical pieces, though explaining to clients why we can't "just move that rope barrier" never gets easier.

The Harbourside - my go-to when clients want "contemporary but with character" without being able to explain what that means.

Why Video Actually Works

Let's be honest - not every business needs fancy video. But those that do benefit are leaving money on the table with poor quality content.

An e-commerce client saw sales jump 27% after replacing shaky phone videos with properly shot product demos. Nothing revolutionary - just steady shots, good lighting, and showing what customers actually wanted to see.

My Bristol estate agent tells me properties with video tours sell faster and get fewer time-waster viewings. Makes perfect sense.

Fair warning: I'm not the cheapest option. What I am is reliable, thorough, and slightly obsessive about getting things right.

Quick Questions

"How much?"
Half-day shoots with basic editing start around £X. I don't do one-size-fits-all packages because they never actually fit anyone, but I promise transparency from the start.

"How soon can we get it?"
Usually 2-4 weeks. I can sometimes rush things, but I'll be straight with you if it might affect quality.

"Do you do drone shots?"
Yep! But I’m not licensed and insured. Probably best to outsource that one.

"We have no idea what we're doing with video marketing..."
Most clients don't just need a camera operator - they need someone to help figure out what videos will actually work for their business. Happy to help with that too.
