Jonny Noakes | Filmmaker | London
Hello There!
I'm Jonny – the guy with a camera in one hand and a golden retriever lead in the other.
For the past 14 years, I've been lucky enough to turn my passion for visual storytelling into my livelihood. Some days you'll find me crawling across a floor to get the perfect angle of a chef's creation; other days I'm behind-the-scenes with Shia LaBeouf, capturing those unscripted moments between takes. And almost every morning, I'm being dragged through London parks by Jess, my enthusiastic golden retriever puppy who has absolutely no respect for my need for coffee before our walks.
My Story (So Far)
I never actually set out to become a videographer. It just sort of... happened. One small project led to another, and before I knew it, I was directing Nina Wadia and Maimuna Enya Memon for creative pieces, filming Christmas adverts for Sky TV, and somehow convincing restaurant owners to let me climb onto their furniture for that perfect overhead food shot.
The journey's had its share of lugging heavy equipment up narrow London staircases, accidentally stepping backward into ponds during shoots (only twice, I swear), and the occasional dog photobomb courtesy of Jess. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Let's Talk About Your Project
When you work with me, you're not getting some detached professional who shows up, points a camera, and leaves. You're getting someone who:
Gets genuinely excited about your ideas (and might text you at odd hours when inspiration strikes)
Will happily talk your ear off about lighting techniques (but I'll try to restrain myself)
Brings industry-leading equipment – my trusty Canon C300 Mark III and C70 are practically family at this point
Believes that the best work happens when we're both comfortable enough to be creative
Might occasionally show you pictures of my dog (sorry, not sorry)
What I Love to Create
Food & Drink Stories
There's something deeply satisfying about making food look as good on screen as it tastes in real life. I've spent countless hours in London's kitchens and bars, learning from chefs and mixologists about their craft while figuring out how to showcase their artistry through mine.
Music in Motion
From intimate studio sessions to adrenaline-fueled live performances, I've discovered that capturing music is about feeling the rhythm in your bones and translating that into visual beats. Some of my favorite days have been spent with musicians, finding ways to make their sound visible.
People & Their Passions
At the heart of every project – whether it's a corporate brand film or a behind-the-scenes documentary – are people with stories to tell. I've found that the magic happens in those unguarded moments: the proud smile of a business owner describing their journey, the focused intensity of an artist at work, or the spontaneous laugh during what was supposed to be a serious interview.
Adverts That Feel Real
Having created Christmas adverts for Sky TV, I've learned that the best commercial work doesn't feel commercial at all. It feels human, relatable, and genuine – like a story you want to be part of rather than a product you're being sold.
What My Clients Say
I'm genuinely touched by the 52 five-star Google reviews I've received over the years. Each one represents someone who trusted me with their vision and felt I delivered something special.
Dean mentioned my "natural ability to make everyone feel at ease," which might be the compliment I'm most proud of. Because ultimately, that's what this work is about – creating an environment where genuine moments can happen, and having the technical know-how to capture them when they do.
Client Testimonials
Jonny was fantastic! He captured our company event perfectly, bringing energy, creativity, and professionalism to every shot. He adapted to a change of brief really well. We received three edits as well as the raw foot (Hazel Crone)
Fancy a Chat?
I'm based in London but my camera and I are frequent travelers – from Liverpool to Manchester and plenty of places in between. Jess occasionally joins for the ride (she's an excellent assistant, terrible with the equipment).
Every great project starts with a conversation. Let's grab a coffee, hop on a call, or exchange emails. I want to hear what you're passionate about and how we might capture that together.

London Chronicles by Jonny Noakes
Crafted by me – visual storyteller with a decade-plus behind the lens. My London portfolio spans corporate boardrooms to urban streetscapes. Regular commutes to the capital have resulted in partnerships with leading City firms and creative agencies. Notable projects include work for Sky Television, filming with Rio Ferdinand, creating content for Chester Zoo, and a qualification with the DMI Group, where I received my professional certification. London's dynamic energy continues to inspire my visual narrative.
